Teacher’s Peace Conference is an event that is held to benefit the teachers who plan to incorporate the Peace Curriculum into their classrooms. We take this time to have guest speakers, network, and answer any questions that they may have, in order to assure that they are adequately equipped to successfully teach, instill and understand the concept of peace and peacemaking.
Survivors of Homicide Victims Training Academy is designed to provide survivors/crime victims with the accurate knowledge and information to navigate the complexities of the Criminal Justice System. The training academy will empower survivors/crime victims with the necessary tools and skills to understand and fully participate in the criminal justice process.
The National Conference for Survivors of Violence is an event that the Peace Institute co-sponsors with The Survivors for Violence Prevention., A National Coalition, Harvard School of Public Health and the Youth Violence Prevention Center. At the event survivors, and professional’s meet, discuss issues, and shape policies that support survivors of violence and violence prevention programs.
Criminal Adjudications in partnership with The American Friends Service Committee and the Committee for Public Counsel Services from Suffolk, Middlesex and Federal Public defenders, we will be offering a 4-part workshop on the process of criminal adjudications. For those who are facing criminal charges and for their loved ones.
Survivor to Survivor Support Circles: Twice-monthly. Survivors may come and go as they determine their own needs in their healing process.
Across the Generations Circles: Brings together willing young men who have participated in the violence and their mothers to begin the healing process.
Truth and Reconciliation Circles: Brings together the young people and families whose loved ones are incarcerated and/or deported as a consequence of their actions together with survivors of homicide victims.
